The Science of Product Application
Great skincare products can fail if applied incorrectly.
Most men apply products the same way they wash their face - fast, aggressive, and inefficient. But skin is not a countertop. It is a living biological surface.
Improper application can cause:
- unnecessary friction
- product wastage
- reduced ingredient absorption
High performance skincare requires intentional technique.
Why Application Matters
Your skin absorbs active ingredients through microscopic channels in the outer layer called the stratum corneum. If products are rubbed aggressively, they sit on the surface rather than penetrating effectively.
Heat and gentle pressure, however, help ingredients move deeper into the skin.
The RED DANE Application Protocol
Step 1: Warm the Product
Dispense the product into your hands and rub lightly to warm it.
Step 2: Apply Upward and Outward
Use upward strokes to counter gravity and outward movements to evenly distribute the formula.
Step 3: Press, Don’t Rub
For serums and actives, gently press the product into the skin using your palms. This increases penetration while minimising irritation. For moisturisers, gently dot the cream or lotion across targeted areas of the face and neck.
Step 4: Respect the Neck
The neck ages faster than the face due to thinner skin and lower oil production. Always apply products downward along the neck and jawline.
Precision application ensures every drop of product performs at its highest level.
Because in grooming - technique equals results.
